The 2004 AMC was held on Thursday 29 July. We thank schools from around Australia and countries in the Asia Pacific region for their continued support of this event which dates back to 1978 and continues to be the major mathematics enrichment event in the region in secondary schools.

In 2004 the event was also held for students in primary schools, attracting a strong initial entry. Medals are not issued for primary students but perfect scores are acknowledged and a number of these were achieved and are shown below.

Those from Australia were presented at a special function in the Grand Chancellor Hotel, Hobart, on Monday 08 November, by the Premier of Tasmania, the Hon Mr Paul Lennon.

Singapore Medals were presented at a function at the Mandarin Hotel, Singapore, on Wednesday 20 October. The Guest of Honour and Presenter was the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, the Hon Gary Quinlan.

Philippine medals were be presented at the Department of Science and Technology suites in Manila on Friday 22 October. Chief Guest was Dr Estrella Alabastro, Secretary Department of Science and Technology.

Malaysian medals were be presented in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday 31 October by Professor Peter Taylor.

New Zealand Medals were be presented in New Zealand on 23 November at the Westpac Offices in Auckland, by Professor Peter Taylor.

Peter Taylor attended a medal presentation in Taiwan at National Kaohsiung Normal University on Saturday 05 March 2005 and Pui Ching Middle School and Belilios Public School in Hong Kong on Monday 07 March 2005.
